a sustainable commitment of the CHIMIREC Group,
in partnership with EcoTree

What was the origin of this reforestation project
and does it improve the CHIMIREC Group's carbon
footprint?
” In 2018, in celebrating the Group's 60th anniversary,

CHIMIREC wanted to demonstrate its commitment
to the environment through sustainable action.
We chose the reforestation project led by EcoTree.
Within the framework of the open doors event and
at the Pollutec trade fair, we have set up a bicycle
animation. All visitors were invited to get on their
bicycles and for every 2 minutes they pedalled,
CHIMIREC pledged to plant a tree. For the year
2018, 1,000 Douglas fir trees have contributed to the
reforestation of the Palotas forest in Creuse.

For every 100 trees planted, 50 tonnes of CO2 will
be offset over the next 20 years.

Our partnership with EcoTree reflects the values
of eco-responsibility that we champion. On one
hand, to preserve natural environments and, on the
other hand, to offset the carbon footprint linked
to our activities. In this case, each tree planted
compensates for 20 to 30 kilos of CO2 per year.

In 2019, during the Equip'Auto show, our Group also
wanted to distinguish its customers most committed
to good waste management practices in their
companies by awarding them with a certificate of
environmental excellence. ”
